Business Science Daily (BSD) is a publication about research. Most people come here to read articles, explore academic ideas, find journals, or follow developments in business, management, economics, innovation and related fields. Unlike many commercial websites, we are not built around collecting personal information or building advertising profiles. We process only what we need to publish content, keep the site secure, run its essential features, and improve the experience of readers.

This page explains what information may be collected, why it is collected, and how it is handled.

Reading the site

You can browse the site without creating an account or giving us any personal information.

Like almost every modern website, we may automatically collect a limited amount of technical information: browser type, operating system, approximate location, referring website, pages visited and general device information. This helps us monitor performance, spot security issues, understand readership trends and improve how we publish. We do not use it to build personal profiles of readers.

Comments and community

When you choose to leave a comment, what you enter in the comment form is stored together with your IP address and browser user-agent. This helps us identify spam, prevent abuse and keep academic discussion constructive.

If Gravatar is enabled, an anonymized hash made from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile image. If your comment is approved, your avatar may appear publicly next to it.

Comments and their metadata may be kept indefinitely, so that future comments from previously approved users can be recognized automatically.

Cookies

We use a limited number of cookies to make the site work properly.

If you leave a comment, you can let the site remember your name, email address and website for your next visit. These preference cookies last up to one year.

If you log in, you receive temporary cookies that check browser compatibility and keep your login session secure. They do not contain sensitive personal information, and logging out removes the authentication cookies.

Cookies may also be used for security, site functionality and basic performance measurement.

You can turn cookies off in your browser settings, although some features may then stop working properly.

Uploaded images

If you upload images, please avoid including embedded location information (EXIF GPS metadata). Anyone who downloads the image may be able to read it.

Embedded content

Some articles include material hosted by third parties, such as videos, podcasts, presentations, social media posts, maps, charts or interactive content.

Embedded material behaves as if you had visited the original website directly. Those external services may collect information, place cookies or track how you interact with them, according to their own privacy policies.

We do not control the data practices of external websites.

Artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence is part of our editorial workflow, but it is not our editor.

We may use AI-assisted tools to improve readability, organize information, summarize research, help with language editing, suggest structure, or support other editorial tasks. Editorial responsibility always stays with human editors.

No article is published just because an AI system generated it. Every published article is reviewed, edited and approved by a human editor first.

The aim is simple: use technology where it makes things clearer, and keep editorial judgment, factual accuracy and academic integrity in human hands.

If you want to know more about our editorial process, see our AI Usage & Editorial Standards page.

Research reporting, copyright & fair use

We report on academic research, business scholarship and publicly available scientific information.

Where we display RSS feeds, publicly syndicated metadata, journal abstracts or publisher excerpts, they remain the intellectual property of their copyright holders.

We do not reproduce complete journal articles, books, reports or publisher content.

  • We display only publicly available syndicated information.
  • Every headline or excerpt links directly to its original publisher.
  • Full-text articles remain available only from their original sources.
  • All trademarks, journal titles, publisher names and copyrighted materials remain the property of their respective owners.
Our purpose is to make academic research more visible and accessible, while sending readers back to the original publishers.

If you represent a publisher or copyright holder and believe material has been displayed inappropriately, please contact us through our Contact Page. We review every request promptly and, where appropriate, we will modify or remove the material.

Accounts and personal information

Where user accounts are available, we store only the information needed to run them.

Registered users can review, update or delete their personal information at any time, except where a username has to stay unchanged for technical or administrative reasons.

Website administrators may access account information only for site management, moderation, maintenance or security.

Your rights

If you have created an account or left comments, you can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

You can also ask us to correct or delete your personal information, unless a legal or administrative obligation requires us to keep it.

Send privacy-related requests through our Contact Page.

Website security

Protecting the integrity of an academic publication takes continuous monitoring.

We use automated security technologies to detect spam, malicious activity, unauthorized access attempts and other abuse. These systems may temporarily process technical information such as IP addresses, browser identifiers or device characteristics, solely for security purposes.

We do not carry out any automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects using this information.

Changes to this policy

Technology changes. Publishing changes. Privacy legislation changes.

This policy may therefore change over time to reflect improvements to the site, new regulations, editorial developments or new technologies.

The latest version will always be on this page, with the date of its most recent revision.

A final note

We created Business Science Daily to make research more accessible, not to make readers more predictable.

Respect for evidence begins with respect for people. The principles of transparency, accountability and intellectual integrity that guide our editorial work also guide how we handle the information entrusted to us.
