The full 2024 Chartered ABS Academic Journal rankings (Formerly known as the ABS Journal Ranking and ABS Journal List) for the 176 Organization, Management & Strategy journals are presented in the table below. You will find all journals, grades, and supplementary metrics, including citation ranks, SDG alignment, international co-authorship, and policy citations. The methodology for ranking the journals is available in the 2024 Chartered ABS Academic Journal Guide.

Below is a breakdown of what each column in the journal ranking table means:

• Field: Indicates the journal’s primary academic field, which is Organization, Management & Strategy.
• Journal title: The full name of the academic journal.
• AJG 2024: The journal’s grade in the Chartered ABS (Association of Business Schools) Academic Journal Guide 2024. This is a prestigious UK-based ranking.
  • 4*: Journals of the highest quality (world-leading).
  • 4: Journals of excellent quality.
  • 3: Journals of good quality.
  • 2: Journals of modest quality.
  • 1: Journals of emerging or more specialized quality.
• AJG 2021: The journal’s grade from the previous edition (2021) of the same guide. This allows for a quick comparison of how a journal’s rating has changed over time.
• Cite rank: The journal’s rank within its category (e.g., Accounting or Finance) based on its CiteScore from Scopus. A lower number (e.g., 1) means a higher rank and more citations.
• SNIP: Stands for Source-Normalized Impact per Paper. It measures the average number of citations received by a journal’s articles, but adjusts for how often researchers in that specific field typically cite others. This makes it easier to compare journals across different fields.
• SJR: Stands for SCImago Journal Rank. It’s a measure of a journal’s prestige, giving more weight to citations that come from other highly prestigious journals.
• JIF: Stands for Journal Impact Factor (from Clarivate). It’s one of the most traditional measures, representing the average number of citations that articles published in the journal during the past two years received in the following year.
• SDG%: The percentage of a journal’s articles published between 2017 and 2021 that are related to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. It indicates the journal’s focus on global challenges like climate change, poverty, and inequality.
• Int’l: The proportion of a journal’s articles that result from international co-authorship(researchers from more than one country collaborating).
• A-N-A: Stands for Academic-Non-Academic collaboration. It represents the proportion of articles co-authored by at least one researcher from a university and one from outside academia (e.g., a business, government, or non-profit).
• Policy: This figure estimates a journal’s influence on policy. It represents the average number of times its articles have been cited in policy-related documents (such as reports from governments, central banks, or NGOs like the OECD and World Bank).
