The ranking of Banking and Finance journals provided by VHB.
The Verband der Hochschullehrerinnen und Hochschullehrer für Betriebswirtschaft (VHB) has released its 2024 journal ranking for the Banking & Finance field. This comprehensive list includes 176 academic journals evaluated and categorized from A+ (world-leading) to D (other academic journals).
The ranking is based on expert panel assessments, with each journal receiving a rating that reflects its scientific quality and reputation within the academic community. The “Votes ≥ rating [%]” column indicates the percentage of panel members who voted in favor of assigning at least that rating to the journal – a key metric showing the consensus strength behind each classification.
Key highlights:
- 13 journals achieved the highest A+ rating, including The Journal of Finance, American Economic Review, American Economic Association, Journal of Financial Economics, and The Review of Financial Studies, among others.
- 40 journals received an A rating, representing leading publications in the field.
- The rankings span all major publishers including Elsevier, Wiley-Blackwell, Springer, Oxford University Press, and Cambridge University Press
Use the search bar to find specific journals, publishers, or ratings, and click any column header to sort the list. The summary badges above show the total number of journals in each VHB category at a glance.
